Indian Vibes

Writing this post on the way to India. Finally it's happening, guys! It has been a long journey so far, but going to make it all worth it, hopefully. Times have been so strange again with Omicron sneaking in. It was not expected when these travel plans were made back in October. It's a different experience this time traveling internationally after 3 long years, following the COVID regulations. I can't wait to write a post on my travel experience this time, I would really like to share it with others that might help at least one person. At the end of the day, I am only thankful to travel when there are no lockdowns (yet) in India or Norway, and excited to see my family soon, especially my oldie goldie doggie Resham, who is now 18.5years old 🧡 - it has never been this long not seeing her. While I am stopping over to do a bit of shopping in Doha (life should move on regardless of Covid or Omicron, right? 😉), leaving you with these pictures from my last trip. Love wearing Ind...

Flaunt in florals to work

Image
Now that we are back to "physical" work locations, dressing up normal like we used to is essential. Switching from   working in comfort clothing from home for around 18 months (!) to working from a physical office, showing up in good attire can be overwhelming. Though we have been working periodically from office here in Stavanger Norway during last fall and this spring and fall, first thing that shocked me recently was that I am not fitting anymore in my formal wear! Blame the lazy weather and the mindless snacking.. Did this happen to you as well?  Here I am bringing in some florals that you can flaunt at work. This comfortable floral dress fitting well on me before COVID.. miss those times :/ Outfit details: Dress:  Express Shoes:  Siren Bag:  Fostelo Shades:  Ray-Ban Photography:  Maria

Street styling (for the first time)

Image
OK! So this is a post I never thought I would do, but here I go.. Since the time I bought this chevron skirt, I have been wanting to do some kind of funky style look, which of course I've never tried before. I was totally skeptical with questions like 'Am I the right age to style funky?', 'Do I have the right body for street style kinda look?', 'Is this a comfort style for mel?', 'What if my friends make fun of it?'. So on and so forth. Hence after careful consideration (haha), I didn't give second thought on if it fits my size and shape well and decided to go ahead, cause.. bloggers gotta show what they gotta show, ain't it?! ;) I was a little careful here to keep it simple and started to style it with a plain white tee, but decided to load with some jewelry. Of course, couldn't go wrong with my Reebok shoes and ended the look with a high pony to keep it casual. I like how it turned out simple and being comfortable for me. What do you t...

Covid updates and Indian florals

Image
Few days ago, we had an announcement from the Government office about Norway being fully open now, celebrating with fireworks in the city center. It was a good celebration with crowds gathering, which turned out into police having trouble to control them. This sounds good to me as its been a while hearing about crowds.. haha.. More than 90% of the population has been vaccinated.. without much hassle like in other countries (you know which one I am talking about!). We are very glad that Norway has such smooth and extra cautious procedures that make our lives pretty easy. Personally, I did not have any side effects from vaccines, and none of our families and friends either. *touch wood* Though we did not have major lockdowns or mask rules in Norway like other countries, we did have a low death rate, and people falling sick quite often during the last few months. Now it's the kid's turn due to the flu season arriving soon. Anyway, we are in a much better shape now, which means we ...

Sakura

The first time I saw Cherry Blossoms was in Washington DC, USA. It was a rare, beautiful sight seeing bunches of fresh pink flowers hanging from the trees. I had the privilege of having a personal guide (aka close cousin) to show around touristy places filled with blossoms. And I was quite excited with pink being the most favorite color.. back then! haha.. So why am I telling all this now?  As Stavanger, Norway doesn't have a lot of Cherry Blossom trees, well, I decided to wear some on my outfit. I wore this soft, flowy dress for a summer party at work (of course when it happened!). #throwback I loved the combination and the fabric so much which makes it a best fit for any outing during spring and summers. I kept it simple and styled them with hoops and my favorite wine heels. Though I think this dress has peonies and not exactly cherry blossoms aka Sakuras (in case you have forgotten about the title of this post 😉), they sure did remind me of my visit to DC more than 10 years ago...

Book Review: His Small-Town Girl

Image
As usual, I had a target to read some books last year. Buying books   at every airport had become a norm. So last year, I decided not to buy   any more books until I finish the ones I have. And then coincidentally, Covid happened which ended my travels al-together, that's a different story though. I don't know why I took SO long to review this book, but this is one of the very few romantic genre novels I read and loved! I've been wanting to write book reviews for a while now , but hardly could get to writing after finishing a book. So here I am, with my first quick read.. Title : His Small-Town Girl Author : Lacy Williams Genre : Romance Rating : 4/5 About the book : His small town girl is the first in the series of Sutter’s Hollow by Lacy Williams. A short and sweet romantic novel portraying characters with mysterious and interesting pasts. Characters: Molly, a simple girl with a dreadful past (and present), runs away from her stalker in Austin, Texas and arrives out-of-mo...

Happy Ugadi

Image
Happy Ugadi! Hope everyone is safely celebrating at wherever you are, with whatever you have amidst this Covid chaos. May this new year bring you more happiness and keep you in good health. It's yet another year of celebration away from home. The plan initially was to be home this year to visit families after Covid had hit India badly and spend time home attending the festivity. Alas.. work priorities took over and had to postpone my trip one more time. I hope this is the last time and I get to visit home soon.  Trying my best to keep calm and continue being normal till the time comes.  *fingers crossed* Fortunately, we have been in a much safer position here in Norway. Haven't had any lockdowns so far (SO grateful about this!) and wearing mask hadn't been mandatory until recently. So you can imagine. On the other hand, I feel concerned about the situation in India - Though it's good to know that many are being vaccinated, I feel pity about the people still having the c...
