Home, Sweet Home!

Blogging not even once every month is not unusual for me. And I think I am going to continue the era this year also. Oh well, you see it already.

After excitedly waiting months to see the new little one in the family, I am home! My sister recently had a baby boy. Yay me, I am an aunt one more time. He being the first boy in the family, everyone is super excited. He is getting special attention and privileges. Everyone wants to take care of him and respond to all his restlessness expressions. He is no less either. He needs attention. He becomes restless when he can't hear us talking or giving him all those lullabies. The cute tiny fellow is keeping us busy already. I am happy for my dad. He finally could get this little friend :)

Being home is the best thing that happens every year (to me) when you are living abroad for a long time. And visiting home on special events like this makes it the best-est vacation.

Coming to the outfit details, this is something I wore for an Indian occasion we celebrated in Norway. Yes, this happened in summer. The only time in Norway when you can see some brightness and sleeveless at the same time. I am as always too lazy to post outfits on time. So don't be surprised if you see my winter posts in summer this year.

Living in Norway is different from living in the States. We rarely get an opportunity to wear Indian dresses unless you are someone who loves to be traditional at home. I am definitely not that one. This time when I am in India, I am surprised to see so many changing trends of Indian wear. I missed so much in just one year.

Happy Sankranthi/Pongal/Lohri

Happy New Year, people! Hope you all had a wonderful start of the year. Mine certainly did that locked me up for first 2weeks. Had a busy start of the year which has so far been so good.

India has just celebrated one of the largest festivals during last week. Its called Sankranthi or Pongal or Lohri depending on the region you are from and is celebrated in most parts of South India.
A festive week right after the New Year ending the cold days with celebration of welcoming Sun God and beginning of harvest season. Its a close to heart festival for farmers but it does is celebrated across India. Of course being away from India, we just welcomed snow on this part of the world and miss having bonfires, doing rangolis outside our homes. And festive fooood, how can anyone forget that. Though I wouldn't enjoy the 3rd day of this festival anymore as I reduced my meat intake now. Yes, the third day called Kanuma is dedicated to eating only meat :(

Indianizing Christmas Day outfit :)

Remember the blog post I wrote last year Indianizing St. Patricks Day outfit
You don't, do you?
Then sprint over to that post first.

Ok, now that I have your attention..

Please note that I am back to blogging.. as always. I now started calling myself as "Occasional blogger" after I realised that I can't be regular here anymore. Though I have been reading other blog posts quite regularly, but writing one has become so hard for me. So I hope I will let myself have this tag at-least.

While I was chilling on this 5days long weekend break loading myself with sugar, I decided to do this Chrismassy post. It is a beautiful time of the year everywhere and what more than dedicating it with a red outfit!
This dress is one of my all time favorites and very special. Its a simple ready-made dress (which I stole from my sister 😬). The color and fitting instantly caught my eye and I love it more for the mesh fabric and dupatta. I paired it with antique colored jewellery and brown san…

Polka Dots Please

I love how Polka Dots are so versatile. You don't need to wait for a season to wear them or in fact wait for any occasion. I've got enough of my polka dots outfits and I love all of them. Especially this blazer.. I was bit skeptical when I bought this if it looks too formal and works well only as formals. But let me tell you. This will go with anything and everything.. for a work meeting with formal trousers and shirts, at the same time you can wear for a family dinner or carry it as a warmer for a cocktail party when you feel chills with your drinks. Or for a girls casual day-out wearing with a simple jeans and t-shirt like this one.
Here, I styled it with my favourite jeans over a tube top, accessorised with a simple choker and an aqua shade finger ring (not well captured but another favourite one). Ended with a pony tail and black heels which I think gave a classy look, no? What do you think? Let me know how it works for you.
