While polka dots have been trending for a long time and will be in forever, I never thought I would love neons as much until I tried it a couple of years ago.  Since my childhood, neon shades have been treated as such blocking colours, I didn't want to be an odd man out wearing them. And wearing them on a bright day can easily hurt the eyes of audience.  BUT.. one day or the othe r, you try what you got to try, isn't it?  And a little bit of  colour blocking wouldn't hurt anyone either!  So we did this shoot when I  unusually  had a chance to wear sleeveless dress in Stavanger. I wanted to keep it neon themed and chose to wear this light neon-pink polka dots dress that I got for my birthday few years ago. At the same time, didn't want to overload the neon, hence kept it simple with easy-going neon earrings and shoes styling with monochrome bag and jewellery.  Now I see that I'm slowly incorporating these colours in my everyday...

I love how Polka Dots are so versatile. You don't need to wait for a season to wear them or in fact wait for any occasion. I've got enough of my polka dots outfits and I love all of them. Especially this blazer.. I was bit skeptical when I bought this if it looks too formal and works well only as formals. But let me tell you. This will go with anything and everything.. for a work meeting with formal trousers and shirts, at the same time you can wear for a family dinner or carry it as a warmer for a cocktail party when you feel chills with your drinks. Or for a girls casual day-out wearing with a simple jeans and t-shirt like this one.  Here, I styled it with my favourite jeans over a tube top, accessorised with a simple choker and an aqua shade finger ring (not well captured but another favourite one). Starting with some "long time no see" ranting.. 😀 I can't believe that its been such a long time I opened the blog to write a post. The last time I was here, I wrote a long travel post with some nice pictures and I lost the whole thing for the second time when I was editing the format. I got fed up and procrastinated it forever.  Then this post was supposed to go in summer around August. But I realised that managing a blog with a full-time job (which you love the most), travelling, other hobbies and long to-do lists of personal errands is not an easy task after all. And falling sick in-between all this makes it even more worse. The blog totally had to take a back seat. Coming to the weather part, this year has been a disaster. Every one of us felt like we got cheated by Stavanger. Or the Sun God decided not to visit us. Or the Earth didn't tilt well enough for Norway to get some Sun. Whatever! Stavanger has some of the beautiful snow days. Unlike many other European cities, it has very less snowfall every year and it doesn't last for more than two days. You might wonder why I'm happy with less and short snowfalls when I really like having snow around? You would understand if you have ever lived in a cold place that snows for several days and lasts too long - time when you need to spend a lot of time cleaning drive ways and wind shields. Seriously! that task is annoying and makes me sick doing it every single day till winter ends.  So this place Stavanger makes it easy for you to still enjoy the light snowfall and skip the cleaning part. But of-course you definitely can visit a near-by ski resort or mountains to enjoy that x-centimeters/few feet powdered snow that you can taste. In between all the ruckus, I feel like I skipped some time between summer and winter. I didn't realise when it was fall and that we are almost in winter already. There are very few days of fall in Stavanger and you can't really see the change of colors in the city. You need to visit some near by beautiful mountains. But one fine day, when the city decides to shine bright drying up the wet leaves from the regular rains, you can't help but take some nice pictures 😊 Pictures credit: Alexandra Photography

The hardest truth you hear when in Norway is - there are very few summer days you can count on in this country the whole year. Read it as - there is no REAL summer. I almost forgot the fact that summer is supposed to be hot.. really hot like back in India or Texas - the places I lived previously. While the whole world is facing the global warming this year, we are having the cold, windy and rainy summer.  Weather is the only thing you talk about in your first year in Norway. The next year? Well.. you are already used to it and start loving the place! :) So, we, living in Norway, pretend the summer to be hot and buy summer clothes only to wear them for pictures and then wrap up ourselves in warm jackets.  The only time you realize the summer is seeing the greenery, and colorful clothes flowers around. Lately I have been on a "workout" spree. Read 'lately' as 2 months. Long time! I am walking, biking, dancing, hiking, running in the woods, volleyball and what not! Sometimes I also go weird about the stairs exercise at home and work. It's all fun except one thing. Running! I only considered running as a punishment that I always received back in school for some bullshit reasons. But doing it now.. I have to.  I have set some harsh goals for myself this year!  As this has been not-my-most-favorite activity, I need something to divert my mind while I run. Like the people or music or the place itself!  The place I live in Norway - Stavanger, is a place of fjords, water flows and lakes (not many as in Finland though). You can basically see water in most of the area I live in and fortunately, I have 4 lakes just few steps away from my house .  I have chosen one of these lakes called Mosva(t)net for a quick run last weekend.  It is pronounced as Mosvanet...

Is it October?? And Diwali already?? This year is definitely flying by. Its going to end in 2 months and I have got too many things to do and too little time. So nothing much to say except wishing everyone a happy and a safe Diwali! We sure are missing all the festivities in India. But making some time for gatherings with friends and having some delicious home made Indian food. You have fun people! By the way, excuse me for the not-so-focused pictures. I too hate them but you have to live with that when you get bad photographers in your life. And when some photographer is better than having no photographer.
